Teresinha gives talks on natural dyes and natural fibres and sells natural dyes, fibres, spinning and weaving equipment, handmade paper and greeting cards through the Wild Colours group of websites. She sells her products to customers in more than 40 countries throughout the world and her websites attract 25 thousand visitors a week.
Teresinha is an experienced speaker who enjoys talking to groups large and small about natural dyes and natural fibres. Her lively presentations tell the story of traditional dye plants and their use in textiles with many practical examples. She also gives exciting talks on plant and animal fibres with a wealth of samples for her audience to touch.
She has been featured in the local and national media, including 10 minutes on a BBC Gardeners’ World programme that has been repeated at least four times. She also helped organise a Radio 4 Gardeners’ Question Time Easter Special and appeared on BBC online.
Talks on Dyeing and Natural Dyes
Teresinha gives two main talks on natural dyes ‘An Allotment to Dye for’ and ‘A True Blue – Woad & Indigo’. Each talks lasts approximately one hour including time for questions.
